Legislative Oversight and Support 
The AMMA promotes the interests of medical massage therapists
and contributes to legal developments in the massage therapy field
when called upon to do so.
These actions include:
- Providing ongoing assistance with written documentation and materials, addressing questions, and direct communication with appropriate state and national leaders on key issues that face the massage profession
- Writing or suggesting language in state licensure bills or laws that
address the interests of medical massage therapists
The AMMA is rapidly establishing itself as the premier
organization representing medical massage therapists.
The American Medical Massage Association
- Specifically addresses the requirements and needs of the medical massage therapist
- Has established standards for the education and testing of medical massage therapists
- Maintains standards of education and curriculum for medical massage therapists
- Provides support services to the medical massage therapist
